Honoring the Self - Body, Mind & Spirit
A Curriculum of Guidance
This is intended as a brief overview for students attending NSSTC courses.
A complete curriculum booklet is offered to all NSSTC students upon enrollment.
While myself & our teachers are here to assist you in every way we are able, ultimately the responsibility for learning, discovery and well being is in your hands. We cannot guarantee that a qualitative amount of learning will be achieved in a certain amount of time. To experience the many benefits of Tai Chi & truly know its path requires a commitment to practice, from oneself to oneself.
Without taking this step, all initial good intentions will quickly fade. Practicing, a little & often, with the emphasis firmly on ‘playing to learn’ will lead the practioner to many doors & reap many personal rewards.
Our goal for you is to wholeheartedly engage with us, so that we may support your process as you reconnect with the 4 principles through the playing of Tai Chi. These 4 principles are not new to you, neither are they something to seek outside of oneself. Remembering your true nature, just as you are, you are enough, welcome home.
Foundation of Tai Chi Movement Form - FTCM™
This is where we start. The principles of Tai Chi movement are made accessible.
The Yang Family Short Form
The traditional Short Form. A graceful sequence of low impact postures.
The Yang Family Long Form
The original Long Form out of which the Short Form was created.
Push Hands & Ta Lu
A natural progression from the Solo Short & Long Forms into Duo work.
The Mirror Form
The Short Form played on the left side, a mirror image of the Short Form.
The Four Principles
These are the essence of this Tai Chi lineage. We begin with the principle of 'Presence'.
